We begin this section by highlighting Understand the City Government Role, on the Office of Emergency Management website; they describe how the city of Seattle will respond to a major disaster, including a warning that neighborhoods may be without city services for 3 days or longer.

To help you get prepared, we've gathered additional sources for getting information during an emergency as well as information about emergency planning. We've included lots of specifics for children, seniors and pets! Recently, we've added Psychological First Aid resources (to our Training & Education page).
